Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd in Redbridge is seeking a Science Technician to support practical science across Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The role requires good organisation and a proactive approach to preparing resources and maintaining laboratories.

You will work with teachers to deliver engaging lessons, manage equipment and ensure health and safety compliance. The position starts September 2026 in a supportive, collaborative school environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Preparing, setting up and clearing away equipment and materials for practical Science lessons.
  • Maintaining laboratories, preparation rooms and specialist equipment to a high standard.
  • Managing stock levels, ordering resources and ensuring chemicals and equipment are stored safely.
  • Supporting teachers with practical demonstrations and classroom activities where required.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.
  • Assisting with the maintenance, repair and organisation of laboratory equipment and resources.

Salary: £25,214 - £26,318 per annum

Start date: September 2026

The Role

As a Science Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the Science department by preparing practical resources, maintaining laboratories and ensuring a safe learning environment for students and staff.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing, setting up and clearing away equipment and materials for practical Science lessons.
  • Maintaining laboratories, preparation rooms and specialist equipment to a high standard.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a qualification in Science or a related subject, or relevant laboratory experience.
  • Be highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Have a good understanding of laboratory procedures and health and safety requirements.
  • Be confident working independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Have experience working within a school or laboratory environment (desirable but not essential).
