Opportunities for Science Technician in Braintree

We are excited to announce an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our dynamic school community in Braintree as a Science Technician. Starting in September 2024, this full-time, permanent position is perfect for someone passionate about science and eager to support the educational development of our students.

As a Science Technician, you will play a crucial role in the smooth operation of our science department. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing and maintaining laboratory equipment, assisting teachers during practical lessons, and ensuring a safe and organised working environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and set up laboratory equipment and materials for science lessons
  • Assist teachers and students during practical experiments and demonstrations
  • Maintain and repair laboratory equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition
  • Manage the inventory of laboratory supplies and chemicals, ordering as necessary
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the laboratory
  • Support the science department in organising and running extracurricular activities and science fairs
Requirements:
  • A strong background in science, with relevant qualifications or experience
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
