Job Description – Science Technician

Our Camden Secondary school is seeking to appoint an outstanding Science Technician starting in May 2024. The role involves supporting a dynamic science faculty that offers courses from KS3 to KS5, including A-level Biology and Chemistry, and Level 3 BTEC Applied Science.

The successful candidate will be passionate about science education and capable of supporting teachers to deliver engaging lessons. Responsibilities include setting up apparatus for lessons and experiments, working alongside a dedicated team within the Science Department.

Responsibilities

Person Specification
  • Science-based degree (1st Class or 2:1) from a reputable university
  • Strong academic background including GCSEs and A Levels, ideally with sciences
  • Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a laboratory setting is preferred
  • Ideal for an aspiring Science Teacher
  • Understanding of the science curriculum is advantageous
  • Hardworking, committed, outgoing, and able to work as part of a team

This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of £26,844 – £28,084 per annum. Located in the London Borough of Camden, the role requires an EU work permit.
