Job summary

Washwood Heath Academy is seeking an experienced and highly organised Science Technician to support the delivery of a practical Science curriculum. You will work closely with teachers to ensure that practical lessons are well prepared, safe and engaging for pupils.

The successful candidate will bring strong practical skills, initiative and a passion for Science, able to work independently and as part of a team to enhance pupil attainment and curiosity across all key stages.

Qualifications

  • Minimum UK Level 3 Science Qualification (or equivalent) required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up practical science lessons, ensuring safety and engagement.
  • Support teachers by organising resources and assisting pupils during experiments.

Washwood Heath Academy is looking to appoint an experienced and highly organised Science Technician to join our friendly and supportive Science Department.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of a high-quality, practical Science curriculum. The successful candidate will bring strong practical skills, initiative and a genuine enthusiasm for Science. You will work closely with teachers to ensure that practical lessons are well prepared, safe and engaging, helping to create the best possible learning experiences for our pupils.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is able to work independently and as part of a team, and understands the important contribution a skilled technician makes to pupil achievement. You will be instrumental in ensuring that practical Science is an integral and exciting part of our curriculum.

This post is suitable for any Scientist holding a minimum of a UK Level 3 Science Qualification (or equivalent) who is looking for a new challenge., This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.

Washwood Heath Academy is a relatively new All Through Academy in East Birmingham, bringing together Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form education. You will be joining an established and supportive Science team that is committed to providing an ambitious, knowledge-rich curriculum and achieving the very best outcomes for every pupil.
