Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Science Teacher to join a secondary school in Norwich from January. The school is looking for a committed educator who can inspire pupils to explore scientific ideas, develop practical skills and build the subject knowledge needed for success at GCSE and beyond. This role would be well suited to a teacher who combines strong scientific understanding with the ability to make lessons accessible, challenging and relevant to pupils' everyday lives.
The successful applicant will plan and deliver lessons that develop pupils' understanding across the Science curriculum. Lessons should be adapted to meet the needs of mixed-ability classes, with appropriate scaffolding for pupils who require additional support and extension opportunities for those ready to progress further.
An important part of the role will be monitoring pupil progress and responding to assessment outcomes. The successful candidate will use questioning, classwork, homework and formal assessments to identify misconceptions and plan effective follow-up teaching. They will provide clear feedback, support examination preparation and encourage pupils to take responsibility for their learning.
The school is also keen to appoint a colleague who contributes positively to departmental life. Working with other Science teachers, the successful applicant will support curriculum planning, share teaching resources, discuss pupil progress and help maintain consistent expectations across year groups. A willingness to collaborate and reflect on teaching practice will be particularly valuable.

The successful teacher will be expected to maintain a purposeful learning environment, encourage participation and promote safe, responsible working during practical activities. They will also support pupils in developing the resilience needed to tackle challenging topics and prepare effectively for formal assessments.
