Job summary

Supply Desk, in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Denham, is seeking a dedicated Science Teacher for a September start. You will deliver high-quality lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics for KS3/KS4, plan engaging activities, support GCSE preparation and foster a positive learning atmosphere.

The role requires QTS or equivalent, with experience teaching Science at secondary level. ECTs welcome. A supportive department and ongoing CPD are provided.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level across KS3 and KS4.
  • ECTs are welcome to apply with relevant teaching placements.
  • Strong subject knowledge across one or more Science disciplines.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons aligned with the National Curriculum.
  • Teach Biology, Chemistry, and Physics across KS3/KS4 as required.
  • Prepare students for internal assessments and GCSEs.
  • Conduct safe and engaging practical investigations and demonstrations.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet diverse learning needs.

Job description

Supply Desk is working in partnership with a welcoming and high-achieving secondary school in Denham to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher for a September start.

This role is ideal for a passionate Science specialist who is committed to delivering engaging lessons, inspiring curiosity, and supporting students in developing their scientific knowledge, practical skills, and critical thinking across Key Stages 3 and 4.

The Role

As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality Science lessons across a range of disciplines, supporting students to achieve their full potential and fostering a love of learning within a positive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Planning and delivering engaging Science lessons in line with the National Curriculum
  • Teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics where required
  • Preparing students for internal assessments and GCSE examinations
  • Delivering safe, effective, and engaging practical investigations and demonstrations
  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Assessing student progress and providing clear, constructive feedback
  • Differentiating lessons to meet a range of learning needs and abilities
  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement
  • Working collaboratively with the Science department and wider school staff
  • Building positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
