Supply Desk is recruiting a committed Secondary Science Teacher to inspire students at a Harrow school from September. You will plan and deliver a broad Science curriculum, assess progress, and work within a collaborative Science department to raise attainment.

Secondary Science Teacher – Harrow

Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

Working as part of a collaborative and experienced Science department, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons across the secondary Science curriculum, assess and monitor student progress, and foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. The school is looking for a teacher who is committed to promoting students' academic, social, and personal development while maintaining high expectations for every learner.

The Role


  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and well-structured Science lessons in line with the secondary curriculum.

  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that supports every student's learning and development.

  • Deliver practical and theoretical Science lessons that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, using assessment effectively to inform future planning and teaching.

  • Build positive and professional relationships with students, parents, carers, and colleagues.

  • Differentiate learning effectively to meet the individual needs and abilities of all students.

  • Contribute to the wider school community through enrichment activities, trips, science clubs, and school events.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Science department and across the wider school to ensure the best possible outcomes for all students.

  • Uphold high standards of behaviour, safeguarding, and student wellbeing.


The Ideal Candidate


  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Has experience teaching Science within a UK secondary school setting.

  • Demonstrates excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • Has a strong understanding of the secondary Science curriculum and effective teaching practices.

  • Is passionate about Science and inspiring students to develop a genuine interest in the subject.

  • Promotes inclusive teaching practices and supports the needs of every student.

  • Has a thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
