Outcomes First Group is seeking a dedicated Science Teacher for Dibden Park School in Southampton. The role focuses on delivering engaging science lessons for students with SEND and SEMH needs in small classes, fostering confidence and a love of learning.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to tailor teaching and behaviour plans, ensuring inclusive progress and high educational standards across a supportive school community.

Qualifications

  • QTS/QTLS or equivalent is required.
  • Experience planning and delivering lessons in an educational setting.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.
  • Driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging Science lessons to individuals and small groups, tailored to students' needs.
  • Monitor, assess and report on student progress, supporting positive outcomes.
  • Develop and implement personalised learning, education and behaviour plans.
  • Create a safe, structured and stimulating learning environment that promotes independence and confidence.
  • Work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants, families and multi-disciplinary teams to support student success.
  • Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and safeguarding while maintaining accurate records and educational standards.

Location: Dibden Park School, Southampton SO45 5TD
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: November 2026

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring teacher to join our specialist education team, supporting students with additional learning needs, including autism and social, emotional and behavioural needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to deliver engaging science lessons in a nurturing environment where smaller class sizes allow you to focus on individual progress and achievement.

As our Science Teacher, you will create a positive, engaging and supportive learning experience that helps students develop confidence, curiosity and a love of learning. Working closely with a multi-disciplinary team, you will adapt teaching to meet individual needs and help every student reach their full potential.

This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on young people's lives while contributing to a caring and collaborative school community.

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For
  • Teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS or equivalent) required.
  • Experience planning and delivering lessons within an education setting.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • The ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
  • Excellent organisational and IT skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Driving licence required

Experience working with students with autism, SEND or challenging behaviour would be advantageous, although not essential.
