Job summary

GSL Education are recruiting a passionate Science Teacher for a specialist SEMH secondary school. You will bring Science to life, spark curiosity and help learners overcome barriers to education in a supportive classroom environment.

The ideal candidate holds QTS or an equivalent qualification and has experience teaching Science at secondary level, with the ability to deliver engaging practical lessons for SEMH learners.

Building positive relationships, maintaining high expectations and recognising individual achievements will be key to helping students develop both academically and personally.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification relevant to the role.

• Has experience teaching Science at secondary level and a strong understanding of the curriculum.

• Can deliver engaging, practical lessons that inspire curiosity and encourage participation.

• Demonstrates excellent communication, behaviour management and relationship‑building skills.

• Is patient, resilient and adaptable, with a genuine passion for supporting young people with SEMH needs.

• Is committed to inclusive education and helping every student reach their potential.

Experience within SEMH, SEND or alternative provision would be advantageous, although candidates with the right attitude, transferable skills and a willingness to make a difference are encouraged to apply.
