Job description

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher for a full-time role teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4. We are looking for someone who brings strong subject knowledge, enthusiasm and creativity to the classroom, inspiring students to develop their scientific understanding and curiosity about the world around them.

We’re not looking for someone who simply delivers a scheme of work. We want a teacher who recognises when students need extra support, adapts their approach when necessary and encourages learners to ask questions, think critically and develop a genuine interest in Science.

What matters to us

We’re looking for a Science Teacher who brings energy, curiosity and ambition to the classroom. Someone who enjoys making complex scientific concepts accessible, uses practical activities and engaging teaching methods to bring learning to life, and takes pride in helping students achieve their full potential.

You will need:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England.
  • Recent and relevant experience teaching Science in UK secondary schools.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science, with the ability to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • A sound understanding of the English secondary education system, including the National Curriculum and GCSE Science specifications.
  • Experience planning and delivering engaging, well-structured Science lessons and assessing student progress.
  • The ability to make scientific concepts accessible through clear explanations, practical activities and effective teaching strategies.
  • The ability to establish positive relationships with students while maintaining high standards of behaviour and achievement.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues, parents and carers.
  • The right to work in the UK for the duration of the appointment.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, professional conduct and the wider responsibilities of working in a school.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate a successful track record of teaching Science in UK secondary schools, with the confidence to deliver the curriculum effectively and the enthusiasm to inspire students to succeed.
