Job summary

Prospero Teaching are seeking an experienced SEND Specialist Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 lessons for students with SEN in the Gateshead area, with a focus on Science for KS3/KS4. You will design bespoke lesson plans tailored to each learner and monitor progress, providing feedback to families. Flexible hours from 2–30 per week, rate up to £30 per hour.

The role involves working either at the student's home or in the community, and starting ASAP. Prior SEN tutoring experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a relevant Children/Education qualification.
• UK classroom teaching experience is required.
• Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box.
• Experience working with students with SEND including ASD, ADHD, GLD and challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 or small group tuition for SEND students, focusing on science and KS3/KS4.
• Design and implement bespoke lesson plans addressing individual learning gaps.
• Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and families.
• Complete daily attendance and weekly progress reports.
