Job summary

Science Technician role-based in Northamptonshire for a reputable school. You will support Biology, Chemistry and Physics practicals, prepare equipment and maintain stock, ensuring health and safety compliance.

Training will be provided; you should be organised, reliable and able to work both independently and as part of a team in a busy school environment. Experience in laboratory settings is beneficial, and you will help with risk assessments and safe storage of chemicals to keep laboratories

Qualifications

Background in science (academic or practical).
Organised, reliable and able to work independently.
Good attention to detail and strong health & safety awareness.
Can work effectively as part of a team in a busy school environment.
Previous experience as a Science Technician is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Preparing equipment, materials and chemicals for practical science lessons
Setting up and clearing away experiments in accordance with health and safety guidelines
Maintaining, organising and ordering stock and equipment
Supporting practical lessons where required
Ensuring laboratories are safe, clean and compliant with current regulations
Assisting with risk assessments and safe storage of chemicals
