Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is assisting a highly regarded school in Southam to appoint a Science Technician. The role supports the science department in delivering safe, high-quality practical lessons for students and staff.

The ideal candidate will have a UK science degree, an up-to-date Enhanced DBS check, and the right to work in the UK, with strong knowledge of Health & Safety standards and prior laboratory or school science technician experience.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of Health & Safety standards.
• Experience working in a laboratory or as a school science technician is preferred.
• Must hold a valid DBS check (Enhanced).
• Right to work in the UK confirmed.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with science teachers to prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical lessons.
• Safely maintain, store, and repair laboratory resources and equipment.
• Advise on safety protocols, regulations, and safe working practices for pupils and staff.
• Oversee stock levels and place orders for new materials and replacements.
• Ensure the safe and compliant disposal of hazardous laboratory waste.
