Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a motivated and well-organised Science Technician to join the Science Department of a successful secondary school in London. This role supports Biology, Chemistry and Physics teaching with practical support across lessons.

Responsibilities include preparing equipment and reagents, setting up experiments, maintaining stock and assisting with risk assessments. Training will be provided; prior science technician experience is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Has a background in science (academic or practical).
• Is organised, reliable and able to work independently.
• Has good attention to detail and strong health & safety awareness.
• Can work effectively as part of a team in a busy school environment.
• Previous experience as a Science Technician is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Preparing equipment, materials and chemicals for practical science lessons
• Setting up and clearing away experiments in accordance with health and safety guidelines
• Maintaining, organising and ordering stock and equipment
• Supporting practical lessons where required
• Ensuring laboratories are safe, clean and compliant with current regulations
• Assisting with risk assessments and safe storage of chemicals
