Job summary

Gillingham School is seeking a Science Technician to join a small team supporting teachers in the Science department. The role involves preparing teaching materials, setting up demonstrations, and maintaining our well-stocked preparation rooms.

Labouratory experience and enthusiasm for science are desirable, with excellent planning and communication skills essential. The position is 37.5 hours per week, term time only, with some flexibility in working hours for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in laboratory work desirable and an interest in science and eagerness to learn.
• Excellent planning, organisation and time management skills are required.
• The ability to work under pressure and on own initiative is prized.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain preparation rooms and keep them well stocked.
• Prepare and deliver substances, equipment and resources for Science lessons in a timely manner.
• Control stock and liaise with Senior Technician regarding orders.
• Provide support during lessons.
