Job summary

Gillingham School is seeking a dedicated Technician to join a small Science team, assisting teachers with the preparation of teaching materials and setting up demonstration experiments to enhance student learning. The role requires excellent planning, organisation and time management, plus prior laboratory experience is desirable.

The vacancy is 37.5 hours per week, term time only, with some flexibility in working hours.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
• High standard of literacy and numeracy.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to work on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain preparation rooms and stock.
• Prepare and deliver substances, equipment and resources for Science lessons.
• Control stock and liaise with Senior Technician regarding orders.
• Provide support during lessons.
