Job summary

Avanti Grange Secondary School is seeking a Science Technician to support practical science in the Science Department. The role focuses on preparing equipment and materials for lessons, maintaining laboratories and preparation rooms, and providing day-to-day practical assistance under CLEAPSS COSHH guidance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of health and safety practice, COSHH regulations and CLEAPSS guidance as they apply to laboratory work.
• Accurate and methodical, with strong attention to detail.
• Able to manage a varied workload and respond calmly to changing priorities.
• Confident communicator who works well with teaching staff and pupils.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment and materials for lessons.
• Maintain laboratories and preparation rooms.
• Provide day-to-day practical support to the Science Department.
• Carry out all technical work in line with CLEAPSS guidance and COSHH regulations.
• Build effective professional relationships across the school community.
