Job summary

The Suthers School is seeking a motivated Science Technician to join our science department. You will prepare equipment for KS3/KS4 biology, chemistry and physics lessons, and deliver supplies to labs for demonstrations.

In this role you will maintain a safe lab environment, assist staff and pupils with practicals, and manage stock levels and requisitions. The position is permanent, full-time, term-time only, with a closing date soon after posting.

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing equipment for KS3/KS4 science lessons.
• Strong awareness of safety when handling chemicals.
• Able to maintain clean, safe lab environments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment and materials for biology, chemistry and physics lessons.
• Deliver equipment and chemicals to laboratories safely and set up demonstrations.
• Check, clean and sterilise equipment after lessons.
• Assist pupils and staff with practicals and ensure safe chemical use.
• Maintain stock levels and manage ordering procedures.
• Report equipment repairs and maintain prep rooms.
