Job summary

Vetro Recruitment in Chester is seeking a proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with Science Technician responsibilities to support pupils with SEND.

You will work with teaching staff to run practical science activities, manage equipment, and help pupils develop confidence and independence in a safe, well‑organised learning space. Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils, preferably with SEND, in an educational setting.
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
• Good written and verbal communication with colleagues, pupils and parents.
• Basic IT skills for learning platforms and resources.
• Willingness to undertake safeguarding and SEND training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and clear away science equipment and materials, ensuring safety and organisation.
• Support delivery of practical science activities and make learning inclusive.
• Monitor stock levels and store resources safely per health and safety procedures.
• Assist pupils individually and in small groups to build confidence and practical science skills.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well‑organised science learning environment.
