Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) in Liverpool, on-site for a temporary, full-time role (about 40 hours per week). The ideal candidate will have HLTA status or strong HLTA-level experience and a passion for supporting pupils in an inclusive school.

Responsibilities include delivering targeted support to individuals and small groups, assisting with lessons and behavior, and safeguarding. DBS Update Service is preferred.

• Experience with SEND and supporting pupils socially and emotionally
• Strong communication skills and reliability are essential

About the Role

We're recruiting a passionate and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive school in Liverpool. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced TA/HLTA who enjoys helping pupils thrive - academically, socially and emotionally - within an inclusive, nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted support to individuals and small groups, helping pupils access learning and make progress
• Support class teachers with lesson delivery, differentiation and classroom organisation
• Help create a calm, consistent learning environment and promote positive behaviour
• Support pupils with SEND (including ASD) where required
• Assist with personal/intimate care where needed, following safeguarding procedures at all times
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and wider school community

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a school/education setting (SEND experience desirable)
• HLTA status/qualification is ideal (or strong experience operating at HLTA level)
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)
• Strong communication skills, reliability, and a genuine passion for supporting children
