Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Science Academic Coach for a 'Good'-rated secondary school in Edgbaston, Birmingham. The role is full-time and temporary with an immediate start, supporting KS3 and KS4 biology, chemistry and physics.

You will lead small group sessions, provide one-to-one academic support, and help prepare students for assessments and exams to raise attainment. A science degree and DBS are required, with prior experience with young people desirable.

Qualifications

• Degree in a science subject (biology, chemistry, physics) or related field.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Interest in education/working with children.
• Experience with young people in school, tutoring or mentoring is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead small group sessions across KS3/KS4 science.
• Deliver one-to-one academic support and contribute to assessment prep.
• Help close learning gaps and raise attainment in science.
