Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a caring Education Support Worker to join a specialist primary school supporting pupils aged 3-11 with ASD, SLD and PMLD. You will work 1:1 and in small groups to support personalised learning, communication and social development.

You will collaborate with teachers, therapists and SEND specialists, provide personal care where needed, and help pupils achieve their potential. Relevant SEND experience and a patient, nurturing approach are essential.

Teaching Personnel is seeking a caring and dedicated Education Support Worker to join a specialist primary school supporting pupils aged 3-11 with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

Your Role:
  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assist with personalised learning plans and EHCP targets
  • Encourage communication, independence, and social development
  • Support sensory, play-based, and practical learning activities
  • Work alongside teachers, therapists, and SEND specialists
  • Provide personal care where required
We're Looking For:
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND
  • A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
  • Confidence supporting pupils with complex needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or AAC communication methods
  • Previous experience within a specialist school or care setting
  • SEND-related qualifications or training
