Job summary

Cardiff Metropolitan University invites applications for a fixed-term School Support Officer in Transnational Education based in Cardiff. You will support the professional services infrastructure of the expanding TNE portfolio, coordinating academic-related administration and partner engagement.

The role emphasises quality assurance, curriculum management, and providing training and guidance to both academic and professional services at partner institutions.

Qualifications

  • 2 A Levels and minimum 5 GCSEs including English Language and Maths or equivalent.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with exemplary interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines in a friendly, positive and professional manner.
  • Digital skills and experience with various applications and software; HE experience is a benefit.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate academic-related administration for Transnational Education and Partnerships portfolio within the School.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure compliance and deadlines.
  • Curriculum management of the Transnational Education portfolio, including verification of academic calendars.
  • Act as central point of contact for partnership matters within the School and with Partners.
  • Provide training, advice and guidance to academic and professional services at partner institutions.

Job description

School Support Officer, Transnational Education

Cardiff School of Technologies’ Transnational Education (TNE) activity currently supports more than 6000 students across 6 Partner Institutions around the world. This exciting role based in Cardiff School of Technologies will be responsible for supporting the professional services infrastructure of the expanding TNE portfolio in Cardiff School of Technologies.

You’ll coordinate and support:

  • the academic related administration for Transnational Education and Partnerships portfolio within the School;
  • the quality assurance processes within the School for Transnational Education Partners to ensure compliance and submission to agreed deadlines;
  • the curriculum management of the Transnational Education portfolio, including but not limited to verification of academic calendars;
  • acting as a central point of contract for matters in relation to School partnerships, including liaison with Partners and across the University;
  • providing training, advice, and guidance to academic and professional services at partner institutions to ensure compliance with University systems, process and regulations as required.

This is a fixed term contract for 18 months, with a possibility of becoming permanent.

Existing knowledge, understanding and experience of educational environments, particularly HE will be a benefit to your role.

Additionally you’ll:

  • Have 2 A Levels, as well as a minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade C or above) including English Language and Maths or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
