Job summary

Together Teaching is seeking a School Site Supervisor for a Primary School on an initial 12-week temporary contract. This full-time role runs 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and focuses on securing the site and maintaining facilities.

You will oversee security, routine maintenance, health and safety compliance, and contractor supervision to ensure a safe, clean, and well‑presented learning environment.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS clearance is required.
• Experience as a School Site Supervisor is essential.

Responsibilities

• Open and close school premises and manage alarm systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and coordinate repairs for buildings and grounds.
• Oversee health and safety regulations and conduct statutory checks.
• Supervise contractors and caretaking staff to meet safety standards.
• Maintain heating, hot water, lighting and ventilation systems; assist with events.

Job description

Together Teaching is currently looking for a School Site Supervisor to join a fantastic Primary School on an initial 12-week temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Security and Keyholding: Open and close the school premises and manage alarm systems.
• Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine inspections of buildings and grounds, log repair needs, and carry out handyperson tasks such as basic carpentry, plumbing, and painting.
• Health, Safety, and Compliance: Oversee health and safety regulations, conduct statutory checks (such as fire alarm testing and Legionella water checks), and manage Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) logs
• Contractor and Staff Management: Supervise external contractors, monitor cleaning or caretaking teams, and ensure work meets required standards and safety policies.
• Utilities and Facilities Operations: Maintain heating, hot water, lighting, and ventilation systems, and handle porterage (moving heavy furniture, deliveries, and setting up spaces for events)
• Grounds and Weather Response: Maintain outdoor spaces, clear litter, manage waste disposal, and handle emergency weather responses like snow clearing or flood control
