Job summary

St Nicholas C of E Primary Academy is seeking a Site Operative to help keep our school safe, welcoming and well-maintained for children, staff and visitors. The role is hands-on, with responsibility for security, cleaning, minor repairs, grounds maintenance and general site operations.

The role involves operating heating systems, managing contractors, and using the Every compliance system (training provided).

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities or site maintenance is desirable.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Willing to undertake required training.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for security and safety of buildings and grounds.
• Carry out minor repairs and maintenance across the school.
• Support with grounds maintenance and outdoor areas.
• Operate heating systems and report issues.
• Manage contractors on site and ensure safe practices.
• Receive deliveries and store equipment safely.
• Carry out daily site checks for pupil safety.
