Job summary

Avanti Gardens School in Bristol is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee maintenance, safety, security and daily site operations, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

You will lead on site operations, contractors, cleaning, lettings and compliance, manage health and safety checks and maintain budgets, while working closely with the Principal and school team to uphold the Trust’s safeguarding ethos.

Qualifications

• Experience in a facilities management or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and legislation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive and positive approach to problem-solving.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of all students.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance, security, cleaning, caretaking and upkeep of the school site, ensuring facilities are safe, well-maintained and fit for purpose.
• Lead and coordinate contractors, cleaners and site staff, ensuring work is completed to a high standard, within timescales and in line with Trust policies.
• Manage health and safety, compliance checks, inspections, risk assessments and maintenance schedules, escalating significant issues where needed.
• Manage lettings, deliveries, stock and site budgets, ensuring resources are maintained and securely stored.
• Build positive relationships with colleagues, contractors, parents and stakeholders, supporting the wider life of the school and safeguarding commitments.
