Qualifications

• Experience in facilities management or a similar role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
• Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people.
• Ability to assess and carry out minor repairs and maintenance.
• Relevant health and safety training certification or willingness to attend appropriate training.
• Basic ICT skills applicable to the role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance, security, cleaning, caretaking and general site condition.
• Maintain inspection schedules, risk assessments, safety systems, compliance checks, logs and action records.
• Lead cleaners, caretaking staff and contractors, allocate work and monitor quality and timescales.
• Develop maintenance schedules and coordinate improvements.
• Support health and safety policy and statutory checks.
• Manage lettings and ensure facilities are prepared and secure.
• Manage deliveries, stock, budgets and allocated site budgets.
• Build relationships with colleagues, contractors, parents and visitors.
• Arrange cleaning cover and emergency cleaning when required.
