Job Opportunity: School Site Manager

Hays Education is collaborating with several schools in Derby to find a School Site Manager to start as soon as possible. The position is Monday to Friday, with hours that may vary depending on the school. Initially, the roles are on a temporary basis, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Responsibilities include:

1. Overseeing the maintenance and security of school buildings and grounds
2. Managing minor repair work and liaising with contractors for major repairs
3. Ensuring heating, lighting, and alarm systems are functioning properly
4. Managing building keys – locking and unlocking as required
5. Supervising cleaning staff and maintaining high cleanliness standards
6. Conducting regular health and safety checks and risk assessments

Requirements:

• Experience in managing premises or maintenance, preferably in a school setting
• Possession of an enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one
• Reliability, resilience, and a hardworking attitude
• Strong organisational and communication skills
