Job summary

Livingstone Primary School is seeking a Site Manager to join our dedicated team. The role involves cleaning, security, maintenance and supervising the cleaner, with regular liaison with external contractors and health and safety checks.

The post is 30 hours per week, on-site at Livingstone Primary, with a permanent contract and an actual salary aligned to Grade D SCP7–SCP10. Assessment date is 8th September 2026.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills
• Awareness of health and safety matters
• Ability to follow schedules and work on own initiative
• Practical DIY skills for building and grounds maintenance
• Willingness to undergo health and safety training when needed
• Enjoy working in a school environment
• Ability to maintain high cleanliness standards
• Experience liaising with external contractors would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and general maintenance as required.
• Security duties including opening and locking up.
• Minor repairs and daily maintenance tasks.
• Lifting and carrying as needed.
• Managing the school cleaner and schedule.
• Liaising with external contractors such as window/carpet cleaners and gardener.
• Regular health and safety checks per schedule (fire alarms, legionella).
