Job summary

Livingstone Primary School is seeking a Site Manager to join the premises team. The role oversees cleaning, security, and routine maintenance, with 30 hours per week (Mon-Fri, 6.30am–10.00am and 3.30pm–6.00pm). You will manage the cleaner, coordinate external contractors, and perform regular health and safety checks.

Applicants should have basic DIY skills and the ability to work to schedules while maintaining high cleaning standards. DBS check required as part of safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Must be highly motivated and able to work to schedules.
• Good communication skills and able to liaise with contractors and staff.
• Health and safety awareness and willingness to undergo training.
• Practical DIY skills and ability to carry out general building and grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Duties include cleaning, security (opening/closing), and routine maintenance.
• Handle minor repairs and upkeep, lifting and carrying as needed.
• Manage the school cleaner and coordinate external contractors (window/carpet cleaners, gardener).
• Conduct regular health and safety checks per schedule (fire alarms, legionella draw).
