Job summary

Pertemps Network Catering is seeking a hands-on Building Services Supervisor to join our busy Site Team at a UK school in Birmingham. You will ensure the buildings, grounds and facilities are safe, clean and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors, with shifts between 7:00am and 6:00pm, and you will handle security, maintenance and porterage tasks as required.

Qualifications

• Experience as a handyman, caretaker, premises assistant, or similar hands-on role.
• Strong DIY and maintenance skills with a proactive attitude.
• Able to work outdoors and indoors in a busy school environment.
• Flexible, can-do approach with problem-solving mindset.
• Works well in a team and also independently when needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain site security including opening/lock-up and alarm operation.
• Look after school grounds and outdoor areas; litter picking, gritting and snow clearance.
• Prepare and clear classrooms, halls and outdoor spaces for lessons and events; manage deliveries and stock.
• Carry out routine building maintenance and minor repairs to a high standard.
• Assist with porterage, moving furniture, equipment and deliveries as required.
• Work in line with health and safety procedures and promote a safety culture.
• Safeguard the welfare of pupils and staff in line with safeguarding policies.
