Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to join our team across secondary schools in Preston and the Fylde Coast, Lancashire.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of school premises, ensuring safety, security, and a welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors. Key duties include opening and securing sites, performing routine maintenance, health and safety checks, coordinating contractors, and supporting lettings and events.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Site Supervisor, Caretaker, Facilities Officer, or similar role is essential.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and site compliance requirements.
• Strong practical maintenance and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Opening and securing the school site each day.
• Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs, and basic DIY tasks.
• Monitoring the condition of buildings, grounds, and facilities.
• Performing health and safety checks and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Responding promptly to maintenance issues and emergency situations.
• Managing contractor access and overseeing work carried out on site.
• Supporting with lettings, school events, and out-of-hours activities.
• Maintaining accurate records relating to site inspections and health and safety procedures.
• Ensuring the school environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming.
