Job summary

The Learning Partnership, in partnership with Wistaston Church Lane Academy, is seeking an Assistant Caretaker who is reliable, punctual and practical to join our busy school site. You will help secure the buildings, perform routine cleaning and light maintenance, and support site operations during term and non-term periods.

The role is 20 hours per week (2pm–6pm, Monday to Friday, or 4 days 1pm–6pm) across 52 weeks, with annual leave entitlement.

Qualifications

• Role requires reliability, punctuality and practical problem solving are essential.
• Ability to secure premises and support basic maintenance tasks.
• Familiarity with health and safety practices is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure site and buildings are locked and secured daily.
• Maintain and clean parts of the school on a daily basis.
• Act as designated key holder for the premises.
• Undertake minor repairs and painting/decorating.
• Carry out general portage, moving furniture and distributing items.
• Respond to health and safety hazards promptly.
• Carry out basic grounds maintenance such as snow clearing and litter picking.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies as required.
