We are looking for a Receptionist to join our dedicated team, providing a first-class front-of-house service and ensuring visitors, families and professionals receive a warm and positive welcome. This is a rewarding opportunity to become an integral part of a specialist educational and care environment, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the service while supporting students, families and colleagues. As our Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, families and external professionals, creating a welcoming and professional environment. You will play a key role in managing enquiries, coordinating communications, maintaining records and supporting the efficient operation of the service.
What you will be doing
- Providing a professional reception service, welcoming visitors and managing calls, enquiries and messages.
- Maintaining accurate records, databases and confidential information in line with company procedures.
- Supporting student admissions, reviews, assessments and key student records.
- Coordinating meetings, room bookings, diaries, refreshments, post and office resources.
- Assisting with examinations processes, ensuring deadlines, entries and records are managed effectively.
- Supporting recruitment activities and helping ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the service.
Experience in a receptionist, customer service or front-of-house role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and electronic systems.
- Professional, approachable and committed to providing excellent service.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Passionate about supporting positive outcomes for young people.
Oak Tree School in Truro has recently expanded and developed two new buildings and undergone a successful inspection from Ofsted allowing us to offer a wider age range of students from 5 - 18 years the opportunity to have the best education possible. Oak Tree School is a specialist SEMH provision positioned near the city of Truro in Cornwall. The school provides full-time specialist co-education for up to 135 students and young people aged 5 to 18 who experience social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours. These students and young people often cannot cope, function or achieve within a mainstream environment.
