Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting an FM Premises Officer/Site Manager – Soft Services to lead on-site FM delivery at The Bridge Academy, Sutton Coldfield. Split shifts 7:30am–1:00pm and 3:30pm–5:30pm, with occasional travel to other Trust sites.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering FM services in a live environment.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety compliance and safe systems of work.
• Experience coordinating day-to-day site operations and dealing with issues as they arise.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with school staff and stakeholders.
• Understanding of contract requirements and service standards (SLA/KPI awareness).
• IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CAFM systems.
• Strong organisational, interpersonal and people management skills.
• BICS understanding is desirable but not essential.
• UK Driving Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage subcontractor activities on site, ensuring all works are delivered in line with safe systems of work.
• Have keyholding responsibility, including the safe opening and closing of premises and overall site security.
• Take responsibility for Health & Safety compliance, including record keeping, near miss reporting, and use of the H&S portal, with Trust personnel.
• Support safety audits, risk assessments, and related compliance activities.
• Support audit activity, including H&S Audits and Action Plans.
• Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including School Senior Leadership Team and weekly documented actions.
• Ensure BAM FM policies, procedures, and standards are implemented.
• Ensure contractual repair works are completed in line with SLA requirements.
• Coordinate planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance.
• Coordinate activities with multiple contractors and permit to work processes.
• Monitor and adjust the BMS system, monthly meter readings and data uploads.
• Manage site waste processes and external cleanliness.
• Receive and coordinate deliveries and portering duties.
• Support emergency response tasks and procurement activities.
• Provide input into contract performance and reporting.
• Maintain contract administration records and site documentation.
• Undertake any reasonable duties to support contract operation.
• Support a school in managing minibuses where relevant.
