Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is supporting a Guildford-based secondary school in appointing a School Premises Manager. The role covers ensuring a safe, well-maintained site and overseeing day-to-day operations, inspections, maintenance, and contractor management.

You will work with the senior leadership and operations teams to ensure premises safety, compliance, and smooth running for pupils and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience managing premises in a school, academy or college.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, contractor management, health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the school site.
• Complete regular inspections of buildings, grounds and facilities.
• Identify maintenance requirements and arrange repairs.
• Carry out minor maintenance and repair work where appropriate.
• Manage and supervise contractors on site.
• Support statutory compliance checks and maintain records.
• Oversee fire safety, emergency procedures and site security.
• Manage keys, access arrangements and opening/closing procedures.
• Support room setups for examinations, meetings and events.
• Monitor cleaning, grounds and general site standards.
• Report significant premises issues to senior leadership.
