Job summary

Park Hall Academy is part of St Bart's Multi Academy Trust, inviting applications for a premises and facilities manager dedicated to safety, maintenance and efficient operations. You will lead site security, manage routine maintenance, supervise cleaning and grounds staff, and coordinate with contracted engineers to ensure high standards and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure buildings and the site are secure, including out of hours and take remedial action as required
• Act as designated key holder, providing out of hours and emergency access to the school site
• Procure quotes for routine maintenance work on school premises
• Contribute to the management of the premises budget
• Be responsible for other site staff including cleaning staff and grounds persons
• Operate and regularly check systems such as heating, cooling, lighting and security (including CCTV and alarms)
• Undertake minor repairs and maintenance of buildings and site
• Arrange emergency repairs
• Arrange regular maintenance and safety checks
• Oversee onsite maintenance contractors, ensuring work meets standards and timescales
• Monitor materials and stock and order supplies
• Undertake general portage duties, including moving furniture and equipment
• Perform health and safety checks of buildings, grounds, fittings and equipment and report hazards
• Handle small cash purchases for materials
• Ensure operation and maintenance of specialised equipment after training (e.g., pools and sports/theatrical equipment)
• Provide training on health and safety issues to premises staff
• Facilitate lettings and related tasks
• Be a member of the Governing body's Premises Committee and Health and Safety Committee
• Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people within the academy
• Any other duties appropriate to the post.
