Job summary

Salesian School is seeking a dedicated Premises Caretaker to join the premises team across two sites. You will maintain safety, security and presentation for students, staff and visitors, carrying out daily maintenance and repairs, under the supervision of the Premises Manager.

Hours are 36 per week, with a 10am-6pm and 12:30pm-8:30pm pattern on a bi-weekly basis; you must be flexible and capable of working as part of a team to keep the school in peak condition.

Qualifications

• Good awareness of premises and safety issues; respond to hazards.
• Practical skills in carpentry, painting, use of tools, plumbing.
• Working knowledge of statutory policies and legislation.
• Holds a clean driving licence.
• Ability to clearly and confidently communicate with staff, students and visitors.
• High level of initiative, self-motivation and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily maintenance and caretaking on two school sites to a high standard.
• Aid the smooth running of the school and contribute to a safe, clean environment.
• Work as part of the Premises team to continually improve the school environment.
• Respond to hazards and emergencies promptly and safely.
