Job summary

GSL Education is working with a Westminster-based school to recruit a reliable Premises / Site Assistant. The role involves practical maintenance, manual handling and helping keep the site safe, tidy and well maintained, with immediate start and potential for permanency.

The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach, be punctual and able to follow instructions, supporting the premises team and school staff in day-to-day duties.

Qualifications

• Practical, hands-on approach and willingness to undertake manual work.
• Experience in premises, facilities, maintenance, caretaking or similar.
• Ability to move furniture and heavy items safely.
• Reliable, punctual with attention to detail.
• Follow instructions and work well in a team.
• Good understanding of health and safety practices.
• Flexible and proactive approach to daily duties.
• Enhanced DBS certificate required or willing to apply for one.
• Available for immediate interview and start date.

Responsibilities

• Carry out basic repairs and maintenance around the school site.
• Safely lift and move furniture and equipment.
• Set up desks and seating for classrooms and events.
• Maintain clean, tidy premises across indoor and outdoor spaces.
• Support health and safety by reporting hazards.
• Assist with deliveries and general site duties.
• Collaborate with the premises team and school staff.
• Adapt to a range of practical tasks as needed.
