We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated School Office Administrator to join our team at a thriving Primary and Secondary School in the B8 area. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in managing a dedicated team of admin and back-office staff, ensuring smooth operations within a busy school environment.


About the Role

As School Office Manager, you will oversee all administrative functions within the school, leading a team of skilled staff to provide efficient support to both teaching staff and students. You will ensure the smooth running of the school’s day-to-day operations, maintaining high standards of service and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee the school’s office functions, including attendance, admissions, and communication with parents and external agencies.
  2. Provide strong leadership and support to staff, managing workloads, and ensuring the efficient functioning of the office.
  3. Assist in financial management, including budgeting, procurement, and monitoring of school expenses.
  4. Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies and other relevant school regulations.
  5. Collaborate with senior leadership to help implement school policies and ensure excellent service delivery across the board.
Essential Requirements
  1. Proven experience as an office administrator or in a similar role, preferably within a school environment.
  2. Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team.
  3. A good understanding of school administration processes and operations.
  4. Good knowledge of the Birmingham City Council grading system and salary structure.
  5. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact with staff, students, and parents.
  7. Good working knowledge of IT systems relevant to school management.
