Job summary

Horizons Specialist Academy Trust is seeking a dedicated Minibus Driver & Site Assistant to help provide a safe, welcoming environment for students while supporting transport services across Bracknell and Reading sites. You will drive school minibuses and assist with site maintenance and security.

The role combines premises support, health and safety checks, and coordination with contractors, with opportunity to develop practical skills in a specialist education setting.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence
• Experience in maintenance, facilities or similar environment
• Knowledge of building maintenance and health and safety requirements
• Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and use initiative
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexible, proactive and committed to high standards
• Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding

Responsibilities

• Maintain the safety, security and upkeep of the school premises, grounds and facilities
• Drive school minibuses to transport students safely to and from school and on off-site activities
• Carry out routine inspections of buildings, grounds, equipment and vehicles
• Support health and safety compliance, including fire safety and statutory checks
• Assist with maintenance projects and coordination with contractors across the site
• Act as a key holder and support site security procedures
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and inspections
• Build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and external partners
