Job summary

Turnfurlong Junior School is seeking a Welfare Officer to lead first aid and welfare across the school. You will provide front line first aid and welfare support to pupils and staff, assess needs, and maintain accurate medical records.

The role requires confidence, excellent organisation and clear communication, with the ability to work independently as part of a supportive team. Previous school experience is desirable; First Aid qualification is desirable, with training available.

Qualifications

• Experience in school welfare is desirable.
• Ability to communicate clearly with pupils, parents and staff.
• Confident, approachable and caring with strong organisation.

Responsibilities

• Provide front line first aid and welfare support to pupils and staff
• Assess and respond appropriately to medical and welfare needs
• Support pupils with ongoing medical conditions in line with their Health Care Plans
• Administer medication safely and maintain accurate medical records
• Communicate with parents, carers and colleagues regarding pupil welfare and medical needs
• Monitor and record attendance
• Maintain records and reports, including those required for statutory purposes
• Support the wider administration of the school
• Help us maintain a safe, happy and supportive environment for everyone
