Job summary

The King John School seeks a dedicated School Medical Lead to manage day-to-day health needs, overseeing first aid and medication administration, and coordinating prescribed medicines.

You will work with students, parents and staff to develop and review healthcare plans, maintain records, and ensure medicines are stored correctly and in-date. This role requires safeguarding awareness and allergy safety focus within our supportive school community.

Qualifications

• Experience managing First Aid and medication administration for students.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and allergy safety in schools.
• Ability to support children with medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day health needs of students and administer First Aid and medication.
• Coordinate provision of prescribed medication and maintain records.
• Create, plan and review Healthcare plans with parents and staff.
• Ensure safe storage and in-date stock of all medicines on site.

Job description

The successful candidate will be responsible to take charge of the day to day health needs of each King John student, by overseeing the processes for the administration of First Aid and Medication. You will work closely with students, parents and other key staff to create, plan and review Healthcare plans. Our successful candidate will also be responsible to coordinate the provision of prescribed medication, alongside the recording, maintaining and monitoring of systems, to ensure all medication on school site is in date and stored appropriately. You need to understand, Keeping Children Safe in Education and the specific legislation around Allergy safety and supporting children with medical conditions.
