Job summary

Larkmead School is seeking a Lunchtime Assistant to support pupils during the lunch break, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment from 12:30 to 2:30pm. This term-time role (38 weeks) is 5 days a week and offers flexible hours between 5 and 10 per week.

You will work with staff to monitor activities, manage behaviour, clear litter, assist with basic first aid, and participate in safeguarding training. A friendly team and opportunities for development are highlighted in the school’s induction

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or students preferred.
• Ability to follow school policies and safeguarding procedures.
• Willingness to attend annual safeguarding training.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils during lunch break and monitor activities.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and pupils.
• Contribute to behaviour management and school security in line with policies.
• Assist with the management of communal areas, including litter collection and bin emptying.
• Follow wet lunchtime procedures and ensure safety during meals.
• Provide basic first aid and refer incidents to designated staff.
