Job summary

Aspens Services Ltd in Ilkeston is seeking a Catering Assistant to support our school kitchen, handle till duties during service, and provide friendly frontline service to students and staff.

You’ll assist with basic food preparation, maintain a clean, safe kitchen, and follow health and safety standards. Training is provided; Food Hygiene Level 2 is preferred but not essential. This role offers school-term hours Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• You have previous catering or fast-paced service experience.
• You have a basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification is great, but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Customer Interaction: working on the tills during service (training provided).
• Front-Line Service: friendly, polite service to students and staff.
• Essential Support: assist the team with basic food preparation.
• Maintaining Standards: ensure a safe, clean kitchen and health and safety compliance.
