Edsential Community Interest Company is recruiting for a Catering Supervisor or Kitchen Assistant to support school catering operations, starting at Ashton Hayes Primary School in Cheshire. The role focuses on leading the kitchen team, maintaining high hygiene standards, managing allergens, and coordinating with school staff.

The position offers term-time work with two additional cleaning days, 25 hours per week, and a salary paid over 12 months. Training, DBS, and employee benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience running a school kitchen is advantageous.
• Ability to empower and lead a team.

• Ability to work well under pressure in a busy customer facing role.
• Flexible to work within other Edsential units as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the kitchen staff and operations.
• Ensure high standards of hygiene and safe food handling.
• Manage allergen information and dietary requirements.
• Complete health & safety checks, allergen management and related admin.
• Maintain records: stock, food orders, quality assurance, targets.
• Liaise with school staff (Teachers, Business Managers, Head Teachers).
• Manage timesheets, absence, and probation meetings for kitchen staff.
