Job summary

Edential Community Interest Company is seeking a Catering Supervisor/Kitchen Assistant to lead school kitchen operations at St Edwards Catholic Primary in Halton. The role offers a 25-hour week during term time with a salary paid over 12 months, and progression opportunities within our school-based catering teams.

You will oversee kitchen staff, ensure hygiene and safety standards, manage allergens, and liaise with school staff to deliver high-quality meals and a positive pupil experience.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of running a school kitchen would be advantageous
• Ability to empower and lead a team
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Comfortable working with IT systems – Full training will be provided on induction

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the kitchen staff in preparing and presenting food to high hygiene and safe practice standards
• Manage allergen management and dietary requirements
• Complete kitchen administration including Health and Safety checks and stock control
• Maintain accurate records, manage stock, food orders, and quality assurance
• Manage relationships with school staff (teachers, business managers, head teachers)
• Oversee payroll aspects such as timesheets, absence management, and probation meetings
