Job summary

Caterlink is seeking a Chef Manager at Outwood City, Sheffield to ensure nutritionally balanced and tasty food for pupils and staff. The role is term-time only with no weekends, delivering flexibility.

You will lead food preparation, ensure Health and Safety and Food Safety compliance, and oversee day‑to‑day operations, inventories and budgets while supervising site teams. As primary client contact in the school, you will drive improvements, report KPIs to the line manager, and support staff

Qualifications

• Experience managing catering operations, preferably in an education setting.
• Knowledge of Health and Food Safety regulations and best practices.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present meals to Caterlink and client standards.
• Ensure Health & Safety, Food Safety and environmental compliance at site.
• Maintain the company’s reputation for excellent food and service and exceed client expectations.
• Oversee day-to-day site operations, supervise teams, manage inventories and budgets, implement action plans.
• Be the main client contact at the school and drive regular improvements.
• Report KPIs and financial targets to line manager and ensure targets are met.
• Train and develop staff, lead by example to ensure training completeness and performance management.
