Job summary

Sodexo at Millennium Primary School seeks a Cook Manager to oversee all food and beverage operations and the finances of the school kitchen. You will ensure top-tier food quality and service, guiding the kitchen team and managing menus.

This role emphasizes supportive leadership, locality, and adherence to safety standards. The position includes term-time hours with a 39-week contract, paid over 52 weeks, and a 32.5-hour workweek from 8am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday, in London.

Qualifications

• Must have experience cooking for large groups (100–1300 students).
• Experience supervising or leading a kitchen team.
• Hold basic food handling skills certifications (NVQ Level 2, Level 2 Food Safety).

Responsibilities

• Oversee replenishment and end-of-service dismantling.
• Develop, mentor and train kitchen staff.
• Control labour, food and stock costs for the catering operation.
• Manage and optimise costs under your control.
• Ensure consistency of food and service standards for staff and students.
• Create and develop menus and conduct regular audits.
