Job summary

Sodexo is recruiting a Cook Manager for Featherby Infant and Nursery School in Gillingham. You will oversee all food and beverage operations as well as kitchen finances, ensuring high standards of quality and service for students and staff.

The role includes menu development, staff training, and cost control, with a focus on health and safety. Hours are 8am-2pm, Monday–Friday, term-time only (39 weeks), paid across 52 weeks.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking in a large-scale kitchen (100–1300 students).
• Experience supervising staff or line management.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures and food hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Manage replenishment of food and end-of-service area dismantling.
• Develop, mentor, train and inspire kitchen staff.
• Control catering operation costs including labour, food and stock.
• Manage and optimise all controllable costs.
• Ensure consistent food and service standards for staff, visitors and students.
• Create and develop menus.
• Conduct routine audits to ensure standards are followed.
